AWARE – Coral Reef Conservation

As a diver, the health of the aquatic ecosystem is often what makes a good dive. Become aware of the fragility of coral reefs and how you can help preserve them. This course teaches you about the vital role of coral reefs in the marine environment. The course also allows you to become familiar with the current state of the world’s coral reefs and how you can help. You will learn how coral reefs function, why they are so important, why many reefs are in serious trouble and what you can do to prevent further decline.

AWARE – Fish Identification

How much of what you see on a dive can you actually name? this is a skill we do after every dive yet doesn’t get the credit it deserves, fish identification is one of the main reasons we dive! Wouldn’t it be nice to know what we are looking at, even if it is just the various groups and fish families. Our staff will sit you down before and after your dives with Fish identification manuals and show you what to look for in making a successful ID and how to identify the same fish all over the world even if there are slight color changes.

Boat Diver

Whether you’ve never made a boat dive or you’ve logged dozens, the  Boat Diver Specialty course can benefit almost every diver.  There are dozens of different boats around the world that you maybe diving from and all have something unique about them. Diving from a boat allows you to explore dive locations normally inaccessible and see firsthand some of the most exotic aquatic flora and fauna on earth.

Deep Diver

Diving to very limit of what can be considered recreational diving- 60-130 feet below the surface- can be simultaneously exciting and intimidating to a neophyte divers. It can be easy to slip into deep open water without even noticing as buoyancy drops and nitrogen narcosis can set in. The PADI Deep Dive course is the best way to log some deep dives with a trained professional’s supervision. Explore ship wrecks and the parts of the ocean rarely seen by human eyes.

Digital Underwater Photography

Look around a dive cabin and chances are that the most experienced divers might have an arachnid looking camera rig. Underwater photography is one of the most rewarding and challenging pastimes you can engage in. Through the lens you will be able to capture any marine life that you encounter. Closely exploring the microcosm biomes that populate the sea can give even the most experienced a sense of awe and wonder.

Drift Diver

Gliding with the currents and feeling the rush of flying underwater- drift diving can be one of the most exhilarating experiences a diver can engage in. Strong currents can be a danger to divers untrained in dealing with them. Our Drift Diver course will equip you with the skillset necessary to navigate this challenging dive scenario. The course will discuss location, planning, hazards, equipment, and the communication techniques that will keep you safe in your drift dive experience.

Dry Suit Diver

Dives can be hampered by our own physical limitations as humans. Strange and interesting dive locales can be found in colder water – so a divers only option if they want to visit these places is a drysuit. Our Drysuit Diver course will give you the foundational knowledge necessary to navigate and excel in dry suit dives.

Emergency Oxygen Provider

A PADI Emergency Oxygen Provider course can mean the difference in a life or death scenario. This course will provide a diver with knowledge of just what to do in an emergency dive rescue. The diver will be educated in the administration of emergency oxygen and the procedures for the different conditions of an injured diver. We will help you gain the confidence necessary to handle serious issues and teach you the skills to potentially save a life.

Enriched Air Diver

If you’ve ever wanted to dive at a depth longer than allowed to explore a sheer wall drop or a ship wreck then the Enriched Air Dive course is for you. Nitrogen is a large factor in limiting the amount of time a diver can remain under water. But, with enriched air we reduce the amount of nitrogen in the tanks breathing mixture allowing for extended dives and exploration.

Equipment Specialist

This course is intended to familiarize divers with the operation and maintenance of equipment. We’ll instruct our divers in the theory, principle, and operation of various pieces of dive equipment. Our divers will be provided with a description of the recommended care and maintenance procedures, as well as proper storage. There will be extensive trouble shooting exercises for common problems with equipment as well as tips to avoid larger issues with regular spot checks of all gear.

Full Face Mask

Divers often have a need, or want, to effectively communicate underwater. The PADI Full Face Mask Course is the perfect starting point. Full face mask diving allows the diver to relax and enjoy diving while not worrying about maintaining the second stage regulator. In addition, the full face mask will help insulate the diver from a cold water environment.

Multilevel Diver

Explore an underwater labyrinth with us! Dive locales like the Bonne Terre Mine in Missouri extends hundreds of feet below the ground with dozens of levels, tunnels, and rooms to explore. Multilevel diving offers a unique opportunity to explore locations as you never could above sea level. The course will teach divers the proper way to safely navigate a multi-level dive location with proper planning and safety procedures.

Night Diver

As the sun sets, you don your dive gear, slip on your mask and bite down on your regulator. A deep breath and you step off the boat – into the underwater night. Although you’ve seen this reef many times before, this time you drop into a whole new world and watch it come to life under the glow of your dive light.

The adventure, thrill and excitement of night diving can be yours when you complete your PADI Night Diver Specialty course. You learn about night dive planning, equipment and navigation. You will practice these night dives under a trained instructors and see nocturnal fauna as you explore the ocean at night.

Peak Performance & Bouyancy

Take your buoyancy skills to the professional level with the PADI Peak Performance Buoyancy specialty diver course. In this course, learn precision weighting, trim and streamlining so you use less air, ascend, descend or hover effortlessly, and glide smoothly through the water. Peak Performance Buoyancy gets you closer to aquatic life and reduces your effect on the underwater world.

Project AWARE Specialist

The Project Aware Foundation is one of the scuba diving industry’s leading nonprofit environmental organization dedicated to conserving the aquatic environment through education and advocacy. Our Project Aware Specialist course will instruct you about some of the most important issues the marine environment faces today and you’ll learn everyday actions you can take to help conserve our oceans. With successful completion of this course, you will have the opportunity to become a partner in the foundation’s efforts to preserve the underwater world.

Search and Recovery Diver

Have you ever lost anything while diving? The PADI Search and Recovery Course will teach you how to find lost objects underwater and how to safely bring them to the surface. You will learn several search patterns suitable for searching in different situations and practice rigging a lift bag and bringing your found objects to the surface in a safe and controlled manner. This is also a great course for anyone who is planning to complete their Rescue Diver Course as the skills that you learn are equally applicable to searching for a missing diver or casualty.

Under Water Naturalist

Are you fascinated with aquatic life? Always wondering what that fish is and why it always dances under a coral head whenever you get close? If you’re engrossed with life under the surface, the PADI Underwater Naturalist Specialty course is especially for you. This course is an introduction to the underwater aquatic environment and will help you develop safe and responsible aquatic life interaction techniques.

Under Water Navigator

Where are we? Does this question get asked a lot when you’re diving? You received a basic introduction to navigation during your first scuba course, but now it’s time to take your navigation skills to a higher level. During the Underwater Navigator course, you will gain confidence in your navigation skills so that you will conserve air, time and avoid buddy separation. We perform three open water dives, with navigation skill development the primary goal. You will learn how to estimate distances underwater, how to use natural references when navigating, and how to perform more complex compass routes during each succeeding dive. Plus, the PADI Nav-finder will be used to help you make simple course maps so that you can relocate a favorite dive spot or treasure over and over again.

Video is the best way to share the sights, sounds, motion and dynamics of the underwater world. Learn to create underwater videos that are interesting, entertaining and worth watching again and again.

Your Instructor will explain how to select, maintain and care for your underwater video equipment, whether it’s a housed unit with external lights, or your underwater camera that also shoots video. You’ll cover fundamentals such as exposure, focus, story line and sequencing. Post dive, you’ll learn about the editing process and how to produce a video that truly captures your scuba adventures.
